Red Nose Day

Any visitors on Friday might have been a bit bemused to be greeted by a very interesting selection of staff and some friends and relatives as they all got into the spirit of Red Nose Day. They left their dignity at the door and dressed in all manner of odd outfits in the name of fun and raising some money too. Donna brought in a selection of comedy songs and we mimed popular past comedians -Tommy Cooper was given away a bit by the hat. We raised approximately £200 and counting. Thanks to everyone that joined in or sent dontaions.

The Gang

Tuesday 12 March 2013

There is such a thing as a free lunch.

Our new neighbours at the Limes invited us for lunch on Friday. They were training their staff but it was still a nice gesture and we got a good crowd together to take advantage. It was only slightly further than walking down to the dining room!

After a love / hate relationship with this pub over the years we are very hopeful that its latest incarnation will be very positive for Woodspring House. It is mainly about dining so hopefully there will be no late night noise and it will be very handy for friends and relatives.
Cheers!

Movement to Music

Heather couldn't make it today so Donna stood in. After a warm up exercise she got the ball out for a spot of football and netball. To finish off we used the parachute which was relaxing, imagining we were bobbing up and down in a boat on the sea.

Derek and Nancy's Emerald Wedding Anniversary

On the 1st of March 1958 Derek and Nancy tied the knot. We don't need much of an excuse for a party so this was an opportunity not to be missed. Nancy and their son Gary came and brought along one of the bridesmaids too. Paul Denny came and entertained wonderfully and whilst the music was more 60's than 50's it was still great for dancing and singing along. Nancy showed us some of the wedding photos, and judging from the handsome quiff Derek had on the big day, rock and roll should have been on the menu.

Rather a lot of photos but it was a great afternoon.
