Christmas Eve

It was really good to have John Harris back on the piano. He has been coming on Christmas Eve for 16 years with only 1 year off due to ill-health. We had already booked Malachi and Ken and it turned out that John and Malachi are old friends and they were very surprised and excited to meet each other. The saxophone and piano went well together and it was good to sing the carols which bring back lots of memories. After we'd worked through the carol sheet John and Malachi played some old favourite Christmas songs like jingle bells ending with Auld Lang Syne. Derrick's granddaughter and great-granddaughter Wendy were visiting and joined us. Wendy was quite a star and wasn't afraid to join in with the fun.

Since a picture's worth 1000 words the pictures can do the talking. Suffice to say, a big thank you to everyone that came, the staff who were on duty or who came in on their day off, Patsy Rose for the music and a particular mention for Pearl and Pat in the kitchen for the beautiful buffet tea.

Jenny Leaving

After 8 years of dedicated service, Jenny is leaving to manage the receptionists at the surgery. We owe her a great deal of thanks for everything she's done and wish her 'All the Best' for the future. We had a party and presented her with lots of gifts so that she can't forget us.

Christmas Jumper Day for Children in Need

On Christmas Jumper Day we didn't have any Christmas jumpers (with a few notable exceptions, well done Pat),  so had to make do with silly hats. Jo Baldwin came to do her usual Friday Club with reminiscing about Christmas. She wrote  peoples childhood memories on a string of stars which we the hung on the wall. We didn't raise much money, (nearly £20) but had fun doing it.

Music for Health

Wendy came for her usual high energy session on Wednesday but with Christmas songs for a change. As ever lots of fun and laughter.
